Commencing her “Linear-actions cutting project” in 1999, Japanese artist, Noriko Ambe’s made it her life work. Her large scale paper sculptures from this particular project are made by individual hand-cut sheets of paper that are stacked together into dramatic shapes with an amazing dynamic flow. Her work consists of positive or negative shapes, in which she tries to embody relationships among humans, time and nature. When admiring her work, I can’t help but also wonder about such great patience… Sigh.
