Yuko Kimura uses her own intaglio prints, old Japanese paper, book pages and fabric to create complex layers in her mixed media pieces and installations. The notion of recycling and history is central to her art making.
“My collage making is started by consciously cutting out fragments of materials and then intuitively reorganizing them into a new image or object. Transparency, form, and texture all take priority as I construct my two- and three- dimensional patchwork experiments.”
