Anoek Vogel’s Paper Peace Garden

“Paper Garden” in Nagasaki, Japan is an idea of artist Anouk Vogel. It’s based on the ancient Japanese legend that promises anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish. In this case the wish is for world peace.

It took a team of fifteen people two weeks to fold all flora, using of a special paper that holds together but also unfolds when it gets wet, making the flowers bloom when it rains.
